Deduction codes can be found for both active and retired Detroit Police Officers. You will need your most recent pay stub.
Life Insurances:

A. Active code: 40620 $8.56 bi-weekly Retired code: 40315 $18.55 monthly
B. $15,000 Death benefit less any return of assessments paid to member.
C. $7500 Additional death benefit if the death is determined "in the line of duty' by the Department.
D. $500 - $4000 Paid to member upon a duty or non-duty disability retirement.
E. All assessments paid to the member on their 25th year of membership less any disability return of assessments.
F. Members cease paying assessments on the last day of the month in which they reach their 40th year as a member.

The total amount of death benefit depends on the number of participating members at time of death.
Active members of the plan - Code 40630 $2 Deducted from paycheck when an active member belonging to the plan dies on/off duty.
Duty Disability members of the plan - A $20 deposit is paid to the DPOA at the time of disability retirement.
Deductions of $2 are taken from the deposit until exhausted at which time a statement will be sent to the member
requesting another deposit.
